This tour is designed for the more serious wine connoisseur and novice alike. We start with a personalized short tutor on the magnificent history of a carefully selected farm which dates back to 1685. Our guests are then taken on a 4x4 tour through the historic vineyard, where they will enjoy a picnic-bubbly whilst overlooking the vineyard and the landscape that flows towards the False Bay coast on our side of Table Mountain. Our personalized guide and wine expert will take you through the wine production process from the moment the grapes come in until bottling and we will end off with `an exclusive wine tasting. Our lunches are at a carefully selected top Constantia Farm restaurant, here you'll be able to sit back and enjoy a delicious lunch, do as you wish!!

We set the scene with a visit to District 6, before making our way to Hanover Park. Here we meet the members of a Project, who are doing phenomenal work in their community.  At the project, we learn about the gangs in the area and how gang culture has shaped and influenced the community.   We meet those who have stepped out of this life and learn about the programmes and activities in place to assist with this exit. After enjoying a typical Cape Flats Lunch, we take an optional stroll to a community-based organisation focussing on giving young people an alternative to being on the street, started during the Covid19 pandemic    

Township tours in Cape Town are a must for anyone wanting to discover the other side of life in Cape Town. These tours take you from the legendary District Six, to some of Cape Town's thriving township such as Langa, where you will learn about the Dutch and British rule of the Cape, slavery, Apartheid, freedom and democracy. You will also have the chance to enjoy local cuisine as well as traditional healers, visit local schools, vibrant churches, shebeens and many other fascinating things to see and do. The people you meet on your township tour will leave you with a new admiration of the South African philosophy of ‘Ubuntu’, meaning a person is a person through other people, as they share a bit of insight into daily life in the townships of Cape Town. District Six The former residential area of District Six is one of the most famous Apartheid areas – once a thriving neighbourhood, the area was deserted after Apartheid government regulated forced removals of up to 60 000 people in the 1970s. The District Six Museum offers a colourful history into the area as it once was, and a monument to preserve the memories of the thousands of people previously living there, as well as the Apartheid years and the area’s downfall. (30min) Langa Langa is one of Cape Town’s thriving townships, and was also established in the Apartheid days after thousands of residents from other areas were forcibly relocated. The area was named after Langalibalele - a chief and renowned rainmaker who was imprisoned on Robben Island in 1873 for rebelling against the Natal government. One of the highlights on this township tour is a visit to one of the area’s famous charismatic churches – something that is sure to leave you enthralled! (sundays Only) (45min) Entrepreneurs Township entrepreneurs such as tailors, barber shops and little markets are everywhere in the township. You will have the opportunity to take some African souvenirs home with you. (15) Have a beer at a shebeen A shebeen is a traditional pub and brewery, or informal beer house, in the township. Locals will make you feel most welcome and you will have the option to taste traditional beer. (20min) Church Every Sunday there is a vibrant and colourful church service (30min) Despite the tragic and often troubled history of Cape Town’s townships and informal settlements, the areas still retain a strong sense of culture, with a vibrant community atmosphere and plenty of food, entertainment and enterprise. Many community arts projects can be found along the townships, with crafts such as beading, weaving, wire goods and fabric making all to be discovered. The ever-present local shebeens offer another side to life – with South African beer, braais and a strong sense of community to be enjoyed. With its numerous streets and estates with French names, the town will make you feel completely bewildered, feeling like you were in France in another era. You will be completely enchanted by the town's charm and its peaceful environment. You will get the chance to taste the region's delicacies, cheeses and its best wines. Since the 1st of October, we are very proud to take you on an unique ride on the Franschhoek Tram, journeying through beautiful vineyards, breath-taking scenery and award-winning wine farms. Bonus - our guides are fluent in English and French! (2h)   Drakenstein Prison Drakenstein, also known as Victor Verster Prison, is located between Franschhoek and Paarl. The prison is famous for being the one where Nelson Mandela spent the last fourteen months of his imprisonment for campaigning against Apartheid, afterwards leaving a free man in February 1990! Here you will get to see a recently unveiled, larger than life-size statue of Nelson Mandela raising his fist, not in anger, but as a well-known gesture of defiance, usually accompanied by the freedom slogan - 'amandla awethu' in isiZulu or 'power to the people' in English. Paarl We end off the tour at the town of Paarl, offering you a great perspective into Afrikaans culture and tradition. The district is specially well-known for its Pearl Mountain or "Paarl Rock". The huge granite rock is formed by three rounded outcrops that make up Paarl Mountain and has been compared in majesty to Uluru (formerly known as Ayers Rock) in Australia. Paarl offers you a diverse range of wine farms, the famous Spice Route, the Taal Monument (the Afrikaans language monument), coffee shops, breweries and plenty more. You will also be able to visit the town's vineyards where you will taste the region's finest wines.
