Many grapes are grown in the area, producing wines such as Chenin Blanc, Shiraz, Pinotage and local champagne. The town of Stellenbosch is a human-sized, very dynamic town with a very famous university. There are many activities such as visits to wine cellars and wine tastings. You will have the opportunity to buy wines directly from the producer to take home and enjoy the wonderful vintages of the region after your visit. (30 minutes) Marianne Wine Estate Marianne Wine Estate is located at the foot of the Simonsberg outside the town of Stellenbosch. Welcome to a unique wine experience in a superb environment. You will embark on a journey on horseback to some awe-inspiring viewpoints. Our last visit will take us to the historic La Couronne, also situated in the Franschhoek valley, with breath-taking views of the majestic mountains and the tranquility of the constantly flowing Berg River that runs through it. Spectacular vineyards cover these mountain slopes settled more than 300 years ago by the Huguenots, who brought with them their age-old French wine and food culture. Pairing locally produced chocolates with their wines is the perfect way to round off your special day. The reserve encompasses the Cape of Good Hope, which is the southwestern most point of the African continent, as well as the historic lighthouse, which offers spectacular views of the surrounding ocean. The reserve is a popular destination for hiking, wildlife viewing, and scenic drives along the coastline and has an ancient history of the Khoisan, geology and famous shipwrecks.
