About Cape Town

Cape Town, also known as the mother city in South Africa, is situated on the Western Seaboard in South Africa. It is without a doubt the most popular tourism destination in South Africa if not Africa. The city is best known for its many attractions, both natural and historical, including Table Mountain, Robben Island, Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and Bo Kaap, to name a few. Cape town is the Gateway to the rest of the Western Cape including the Cape Winelands, Cape Peninsula, Overberg and even the Garden route.

Cape Town was founded by the Ducth East India company as it was situated on the spice route between Europe and the East. Cape Town provided ample fresh water and allowed the company to establish gardens which provided fresh fruits and vegetables. This was extremely important as many sailors suffered from scurvy due to a lack of essential vitamins obtained in the fresh food.

Today Cape Town is vibrant city home to many different cultures. This combined with the natural surroundings and rich history is what makes Cape Town such a unique and a unique and attractive destination.
