Wild Coast Horse Trail - the most spectacular beach riding holiday in the world!
Explore the rugged, unspoiled natural beauty of the Wild Coast of South Africa. Miles and miles of empty beaches, remote rural villages, spectacular country side and fantastic riding!
A malaria-free area, the Wild Coast offers unparalleled riding experiences over rocky headlands, through the rolling hills of the former homeland of the Transkei and along vast tracts of unoccupied golden beaches.
This trail takes riders along the coast from Kei Mouth into the southern region of the Wild Coast, staying at coastal hotels along the way which provide comfortable, unpretentious stop-overs for horse and rider alike! The ride is carefully planned to ensure optimum riding experience balanced with rest periods for our hard-working horses whose responsiveness and enthusiasm is complemented by their fitness and stamina.
This itinerary is subject to local weather conditions and tides and can also be adjusted to include more or less riding depending on the group’s experience and preferences.
Accommodation and Meals
Trennery's Hotel - has an old fashioned feel and is a favorite South African holiday resort.
Mazeppa Bay Hotel - thatched building, palm fringed beaches, and a island make this a unique stop over.
Kob Inn - is on the rocks on the edge of the sea. This is a lovely hotel where you spend 2 nights of your Wild Coast Adventure.
Wavecrest Hotel - stunningly situated the thatched rondavels make this a very nice retreat.
Kei Mouth- We use a selection of beach houses or bed & breakfast for the first and last night depending on the group size and accommodation availability.
All meals are included:
Breakfast is your choice of continental and/or full English cook up. Lunch changes from day to day, it could be a pub lunch, set lunch at one of the hotels or a picnic along the way. Dinner is at 7.30 and is a set menu of 3 or 4 courses.
PLEASE NOTE All riding and itineraries are subject to change due to variations in local conditions, hotel accommodation availability, rider’s abilities, the weather & the influences of the sea tides and during the rainy season the conditions of the rivers at the time of riding.

What To Wear PACKING LIST
· Jodhpurs or riding pants.
· Riding chaps or long boots.
· Own hard hat.
· Shorts for walking and hiking.
· Walking shoes or boots to ride in.
· Slip slops or sandals.
· A couple of light long sleeved shirts with collars to protect you from the sun while riding.
· T shirts and tops.
· Light long trousers. Jeans will do.
· Smart outfit to change for dinner at the hotels.
· Also bring :
· Warm clothing 1 X jersey (jumper/fleece).to ride in and a nice one for the evenings!
· A good warm rain proof coat.
· Light weight rain jacket/wind breaker that will be tied to your saddle.
· Sun hat (that stays on) and sun block.
· Swimming costume and swimming towel.
· A torch (Flashlight) each.
· A camera, (battery charger) & adaptor!
· Reading material
· Other items of a personal nature.
· Bring some DVD movies to watch in the evenings.
· Enough pocket money for day trips & outings. (R3000.00 to R5000.00 will cover day trips and other bits a pieces)
· There is an ATM to draw cash in the local village
· Please note that is customary to leave a tip to house maids and other staff that help look after you.
NB! A valid credit card to cover any unforeseen emergency. This would be used to cover the unlikely event of you having to go to hospital if you have a bad fall from a horse. The hospitals in our area demand a deposit to be paid up front. You would be able to reclaim this amount from your travel insurance.

Exclusions Excludes airport transfers, drinks at local bars, restaurants and hotels, spa treatments and items of a personal nature.

• The 25% booking confirmation deposit is payable within 7 days of booking to confirm the riding holiday - it is non-refundable.
• All bookings must be paid 14 days before start of trail.
• If a booking is made within the 14 day period, the full amount is payable.
• No refunds will be given once payment has been made.
• No refunds will be given if client departs early for any reason.
• Should a client, due to unforeseen circumstance (sickness or injury) or COVID 19 travel regulations, not be able to travel (proof will be required) and not be able to make the dates that they booked, we will assist as best as we can to reschedule their riding holiday to another date that suits both parties.

Minors are to be accompanied at all times by adults/custodians who will at all time accept responsibility for minors.
LIABILITY
Whilst riding or in the vicinity of horses in the care of the operator or guide of your trip you must comply with the instructions of that person. You accept that the aforementioned operator or guide is entitled to require you to dismount or to refuse to allow you to ride if for any reason they consider that you may endanger the safety or welfare of any person or horses. If so required you have no claim and will not be entitled to any compensation or refund.
You understand and accept that you will be required to sign our standard “liability waiver” on arrival. A copy of our indemnity form is found on this web site or we can send you one by email.
DOMICILE EXECUTANDI
All possible disputes arising from our terms and conditions are subject to South African Law and any hearing of cases will take place in a South African Court of Law.
• Wild Coast Horse Trails is not liable for any damages, loss or injuries that may be suffered by the guests whether occurring before, during or after the ride and you are required to sign a recreational release and indemnity form.
