Join us on a single tank dive dive down into this magical and marvellous 3-dimensional ecosystem which harbours an incredible array of life, from the tiny and the intricate to the large playful Cape fur Seals and everything in between. This packages includes a single boat entry. The dive will focus on the Great African Sea Forest, stretching along the Cape Coast all the way through to Namibia, wrecks and artificial reef systems. Become surrounded my huge schools of Strepie fish, explore the caves and swim through giant granite boulders and become mesmerised by the spectacle of the colourful nudibranchs. Your expert guide will show you this amazing underwater world in some of the most pristine kelp forests along the coast and point out critters to you which you would have otherwise missed. Whilst diving in the forests, there is also always the possibility of a cow shark interaction as they slowly glide through the strands of the kelp forest in its prehistoric form showing little to no interest in divers as it goes about its natural behaviour. Kelp is NOT a plant but a giant brown alga, but does photosynthesise like plants and so grows in relatively shallow coastal waters, therefore the majority of kelp diving is in waters no more than 12-15m in depth.

Cape Town is quite unique in that there is a huge variety of shore entries available on both sides of the peninsula. False Bay has beautiful, thick kelp forests which creates an unusual environment for exploring, as well as a refuge for small animals and schools of reef fish. One will encounter numerous nudibranchs (over 80 species have been documented), crustaceans and lobsters, anemones, feather-stars, brittle-stars, sponges, sea-fans, octopuses and cuttlefish, as well as many species of interesting fish, such as the Klipvis of which there are 34 known species in False Bay alone. False Bay falls into a Marine Protected Area where no marine organisms may be removed or disturbed. Shore diving lends itself to small groups, longer dives, exploration and a more intimate diving experience. Photographers often prefer shallow shore dives due to better light available and shore diving also suits less experienced and confident divers. Our shore diving package includes all diving equipment, transfers from the dive center to the dive site and back, lunch with hot or cold drink and a good debrief afterwards. We have many marine ID books in the dive center to help you identify the critters you have seen.

From here, you will proceed to Duiker Island in the shadows of Karkonkelberg. Duiker Island is home to an incredible population of Cape Fur Seals. Here you get to swim and snorkel with the Cape fur seals, an activity like no other! Next up on the tour is exploring the hidden coves along Chapman’s Peak Drive. Ths unreal experience will give you a different perspective of this famous attractions. For the adrenaline junkies, there are a couple of rock jumps into the freezing Atlantic Ocean to get the blood pumping. The boat trip will now head back to Kommetjie along the Noordhoek coast-line. After changing into dry clothes, coffee is the order of the day! Please note this experience is extremely weather dependent. We will take you into the channel of water between Dyer Island and Geyser Rock known as the world famous ‘Shark Alley’. We will then take you to the whale hot-spots in the bay.
